• Family & Friends Visit Visa

  For visiting relatives or friends with a notarised invitation from the Italian host.

• Business Visa

  For attending meetings and conferences with an official invitation from the Italian business host.

• Cultural & Sports Visa

  For taking part in cultural, sporting, scientific, or religious events.

• Medical Visa (Short-stay visa)

  Issued for the purpose of receiving treatment at Italian hospitals. Classified as a short-stay visa, with stays not exceeding 90 days. Requires detailed medical reports plus an official invitation or booking confirmation from the relevant hospital.

1. Choose the right Italian visa type

   Start by identifying the visa category that matches your purpose of travel — tourism, family visit, business, medical, or study. Tourism and business visa applications from Jordan are handled by VFS Global Italy in Amman on behalf of the Italian Embassy in Amman. Other visa categories (study, work, family reunification) are submitted directly to the embassy.

2. Create an account and complete the application

   Register on the VFS Italy Jordan portal and complete the Schengen visa application form online. Make sure your name, passport details, and travel dates exactly match your supporting documents — formal errors are a leading cause of refusal.

3. Prepare the supporting documents

   Refer to the official document checklists on the Italian Embassy in Amman website and prepare:
   - Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure date, issued within the last 10 years, with two blank pages.
   - Jordanian ID card, or valid Jordanian residency permit if you are a foreign resident.
   - Stamped bank statements covering the last 3 months.
   - Employment letter and a recent salary certificate.
   - Round-trip flight reservation and hotel bookings covering every night of your stay.
   - Schengen travel insurance with minimum coverage of EUR 30,000.
   - Recent passport-sized photo meeting Schengen specifications.
   The embassy works only through VFS — be wary of any unofficial intermediary claiming to handle the application process.

4. Book your biometrics appointment at VFS Amman

   Book your appointment with VFS Global Italy at Barakeh Mall (P2), Sweifeih, Amman, or by calling +962 6 581 9024. Submit your application at least 21 working days before your travel date, and no more than 6 months in advance.

5. Attend the appointment and pay the fees

   At your appointment your ten-fingerprint scan and facial photo are taken, your file is reviewed, and your passport is held. Pay the embassy fee (Schengen) and the VFS service fee at the centre, in cash or by card. Biometrics are mandatory for applicants aged 12 and above. The whole appointment takes about 15–20 minutes.

6. Track processing at the Italian Embassy in Amman

   Files received by VFS are sent to the Italian Embassy in Amman the next working day. Decisions typically take around 21 working days, though times vary by nationality, season, and visa type. You may also be invited for a personal interview at the embassy if needed. Track your application via your VFS account.

7. Collect your passport and visa

   Once a decision is issued your passport is returned to the VFS centre. Collect it in person with your ID, or request the optional courier delivery service. Before you travel, verify the visa data (name, number of entries, validity dates, residence type) against your passport, and keep copies of your bookings and insurance ready in case of border checks.

  Yes, a Schengen visa allows entry to and free travel between all 27 Schengen countries with no extra visa required.

• What is the most common reason for refusal?

  Weak ties to Jordan, failing to convince the embassy you will return, weak financial standing, or incomplete documents. We help you strengthen your file before you submit.

• Does the application require a personal interview?

  Usually not — most applications are decided on the documents. In special cases the embassy may request an interview.
