Application steps
Choose the right Slovak visa type
Start by identifying the visa category that matches your purpose of travel — tourism, family visit, business, medical, or study. The Slovak Republic maintains a Consulate General in Amman at Jabal Amman, 3rd Circle (Jordan Insurance Co. Building, 6th floor). Refer to the official Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs visa page for the full visa categories and current rules.
Confirm where to apply
Contact the Slovak Consulate General in Amman by phone (+962 6 465 7651) or email (barakeh@go.com.jo) to confirm the current visa intake channel for your case. Schengen application channels can change; check current arrangements before booking. For general guidance see the Slovak MFA visa types page.
Complete the official Schengen application form
Complete the harmonised Schengen visa application form available from the Slovak MFA Schengen visa application page. Make sure your name, passport details, and travel dates exactly match your supporting documents — formal errors are a leading cause of refusal.
Prepare the supporting documents

Book the appointment via the channel confirmed by the consulate. Personal appearance is mandatory for biometrics (ten-fingerprint scan and photo). Pay the embassy fee (Schengen) and any service fee at submission. Biometrics are mandatory for applicants aged 12 and above.
Track processing
A Schengen short-stay decision is statutorily issued within 15 calendar days, and may be extended up to 45 days in additional cases. For status updates, contact the consulate directly using the contact details on the embassy listing.
Collect your passport and visa
Once a decision is issued you will be notified to collect your passport in person from the consulate with your ID. Before you travel, verify the visa data (name, number of entries, validity dates, residence type) against your passport, and keep copies of your bookings and insurance ready in case of border checks.
FAQ
What is a Schengen visa?
A unified visa that allows entry to 29 European countries within the Schengen area on a single visa, with a stay of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
How long is a Schengen visa valid?
Usually granted short-term (up to 3 months) with single or multiple entries. In some cases it can be issued for longer — up to 5 years.
Can I travel between Schengen countries on a single visa?
Yes, a Schengen visa allows entry to and free travel between all 27 Schengen countries with no extra visa required.
What is the most common reason for refusal?
Weak ties to Jordan, failing to convince the embassy you will return, weak financial standing, or incomplete documents. We help you strengthen your file before you submit.
Does the application require a personal interview?
Usually not — most applications are decided on the documents. In special cases the embassy may request an interview.
