Application steps
Choose the right Qatar visa type
Start by identifying the visa category that matches your purpose of travel — Jordanian passport holders need an electronic travel authorisation (eVisa) before entry to Qatar. The most common choices are:
- Tourist Visa (A1) — for visit and tourism, applied via the Hayya platform.
- Family Visit (B1) — sponsored by a Qatari resident.
For a full list of categories see the Visit Qatar visa information page.Create an account on the Hayya portal
Go to the official Hayya platform or download the "Hayya to Qatar" app on iOS/Android. Create an account by email, choose the appropriate visa category (A1 Tourist), and complete the form with personal details, passport information, and travel dates.
Upload required documents
Inside the Hayya application, upload digital copies of:
- Passport bio page (valid for at least 6 months from arrival).
- Recent passport-sized photo.
- Round-trip ticket or hotel reservation.
- Jordanian residency permit if you are a foreign resident.
For family visit (B1), the Qatari sponsor must lodge the request through the Ministry of Interior portal — not the visiting traveller.Pay the embassy fees
Pay the embassy fee online by credit card on the Hayya platform — typical fees for the A1 Tourist visa are around QAR 100 (approximately JOD 20). The fee is non-refundable if the application is refused.
Receive the eVisa
The decision is typically issued within 3 to 5 working days (sometimes faster) by email and on your Hayya app account, as a PDF. Print a copy and present it on arrival. The visa is electronically linked to your passport — no sticker is affixed.
On arrival in Qatar
Present your passport with the printed Hayya eVisa to the immigration officer at Hamad International Airport. Facial biometrics and iris scans are taken. The Tourist visa allows stays of up to 30 days, extendable for another 30 days via the Ministry of Interior visa portal at least 7 days before expiry to avoid overstay fines.
Other categories and resources
For longer stays, work, study, medical, or other categories see the Consular Services page on the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Family visit applications must be initiated by the Qatari sponsor on the Ministry of Interior portal, not by the visitor abroad.
FAQ
What is a Schengen visa?
A unified visa that allows entry to 29 European countries within the Schengen area on a single visa, with a stay of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
How long is a Schengen visa valid?
Usually granted short-term (up to 3 months) with single or multiple entries. In some cases it can be issued for longer — up to 5 years.
Can I travel between Schengen countries on a single visa?
Yes, a Schengen visa allows entry to and free travel between all 27 Schengen countries with no extra visa required.
What is the most common reason for refusal?
Weak ties to Jordan, failing to convince the embassy you will return, weak financial standing, or incomplete documents. We help you strengthen your file before you submit.
Does the application require a personal interview?
Usually not — most applications are decided on the documents. In special cases the embassy may request an interview.
